Gratitude starts in the feed room.
There are three of us behind The Grateful Horse Co. My wife has spent her career as a riding instructor — she's the one who actually understands what a horse needs, and why patience counts for more than anything on a shelf. Our daughter is twelve, horse-mad in the way only a twelve-year-old can be, and entirely devoted to her Connemara. I'm the one who ends up doing most of the heavy lifting around the yard — turnout, tack, feed, whatever needs doing that day.
Between the three of us, we've tried to keep everything as natural as we can — how we train, how we ride and handle, how we manage turnout, and what goes into the feed room. Somewhere along the way it stopped feeling like a chore and started feeling like gratitude — for the animals who give us so much, and for the chance to give a little of that care back.
Nothing on the market quite matched the way we'd chosen to do everything else, so I started mixing my own — botanicals and blends at the kitchen table, long before we thought about anyone else using them. What became The Grateful Horse Co. is that same care, bottled and jarred, made as naturally as I know how, for my daughter's pony and my wife's horses first, and now, for yours.
